From a 13-year-old girl in a hair salon to building a career with purpose

My journey in the beauty industry started much earlier than most people realise. At just 13 years old, I began working in a hair salon, where my love for the beauty industry first began.

I went on to attend college and became a fully qualified hairdresser, thinking I had my career path all figured out. But life had other plans for me… and being a mum was calling.

I became a mum at just 18 years old, and becoming a mum so young completely changed the direction of my life. I’m now a proud mum of three, and although my journey hasn’t always been straightforward, I wouldn’t change the path that brought me here.

In 2016, I found my way back into the beauty industry and began building my career again — this time creating something that was truly mine.

Everything you see today has been built by me, from the ground up. There’s no big team behind the scenes and no people secretly making it all happen. From the treatments I perform, the courses I create and teach, the content and marketing, the branding and the everyday running of my businesses — I do it all.

So I really do understand what it feels like to start with nothing and build something from the ground up. I’ve experienced the risks, mistakes, setbacks, financial losses and long hours that come with building a business. But I’ve also experienced the incredible feeling of watching an idea become a reality.

My journey has taken me from hairdressing, to beauty, lashes, permanent makeup, medical tattooing and now education. Along the way, I’ve built businesses, developed my skills and created Belle Rose Academy so I can share everything I’ve learned with other women who want to create something for themselves.

Because for me, success has never just been about money. It’s about purpose. It’s about freedom. It’s about making a difference.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is being able to use my skills to give back, including providing free 3D realism areola tattoos for cancer survivors and helping women regain confidence after incredibly difficult experiences.

And away from business, I’m just Kirsty — a mum of three, a dancer, a lover of nature and a total hippy at heart. 🌿 I’m happiest outdoors, surrounded by nature, dancing, being barefoot and, yes… probably hugging a tree! 😂

I believe you can be ambitious, build something incredible and still remain completely yourself.

I started with a dream, a lot of determination and not much else. Now, my biggest passion is showing other women that they can build something from nothing too.
